Tottenham Hotspur is considering re-entry of midfielder Harry Winks, produced by the club’s youth system.
British media ‘BBC’ quoted Spain’s ‘Pichahes’ on the 18th (Korea time) as saying, “England midfielder Winks, who played for Tottenham in the past, is connected to his former team. The club is considering the possibility of re-entry.”
Winks is a midfielder born in 1996 and is a vocal resource who has been wearing Tottenham’s uniform since the age of six. He went through the Tottenham youth system and stepped on the professional stage in July 2016.
Since then, Winks started receiving opportunities from the 2016/17 season. During that season, Winks made his presence known by playing in 33 games, both as a starter and a substitute.
As always, the problem was injury. Winks, who had been steadily growing even if not at a steep pace, blew through the 2017/18 season due to the ankle injury.
Winks, who returned from injury, faced a downward trend based on his mobility and physical abilities, which were lower than before. Winks sought to turn around through Sampdoria loan in the 2022/23 season, but did not achieve much.
Winks was completely turned into a candidate, but ultimately chose to move. He left Tottenham and settled in Leicester City, the Championship (minor league) where he was demoted from the 예스벳 League.
Winks was revived when Leicester City were given more than a certain level of opportunity. He played as a key midfielder in the team last season, playing 48 official games.
Thanks to Winks’ performance, Leicester City won promotion in just one season. Winks has played in 11 matches this season as well. Tottenham, which has been agonizing over Bentancourt’s disciplinary action and Bissouma’s poor condition, is keeping an eye on him.
