For Kylian Mbappe, winning the Ballon d’Or seems more important than the French national team.
Santi Auna, a reporter from the French Football Club “Foot Mercato,” said on the 12th (Korea time), “Mbappé has already expressed his desire to participate in the A-match against France in the last match. Mbappé has publicly mentioned this, and the French national team is aware of this. He has made winning the Ballon d’Or in 2025 his top priority. Mbappe is France’s top star and a world-class striker. Early on, Mbappe received attention as France’s best talent, he established himself as France’s best ace by winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia and ranking second at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
He joined PSG in the 2017-18 season. He scored more than double-digit goals every season, showing strong performance. While playing for PSG, he scored 256 goals during 308 games, becoming an irreplaceable player for the club.
Mbappe left PSG after finishing the last season. He finally signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid, which had always wanted to play Mbappe. His jersey number was that of the legendary Real players including Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Mbappe, who scored his debut goal in the UEFA Super Cup final, has made five goals and one assist in eight league matches since the opening, and has scored one goal in two matches in the UEFA Champions League.
He suffered an injury in the seventh round of La Liga against Alaves. After the match, Real said Mbappe injured his left femoral muscle. However, Mbappe was excluded from the list of the French national team aka 꽁머니, which is currently on a Nations League schedule during the October A-match period. On top of that, Swedish media Aftonbladet reported that Mbappe was found at a nightclub in Stockholm. According to Auna, Mbappe seems to have been on vacation after refusing to call up an A-match, which could potentially pose a series of injury, in order to win the Ballon d’Or.
